The inaugural two-day summit, held on August 10 and 11, brought together experts, policymakers, and educators to discuss the multifaceted impacts of climate change. The event highlighted the crucial role of Eco-Clubs in colleges as catalysts for change, encouraging collaborative brainstorming sessions to revitalize these clubs.

Uttarakhand Set to Introduce MBBS Courses in Hindi in State Medical Colleges.
Uttarakhand is poised to revolutionize medical education by introducing MBBS courses in Hindi within its state medical colleges. Dhan Singh Rawat, the Minister of Health and Education, revealed this groundbreaking development on Friday. He announced that Uttarakhand is all set to initiate these Hindi-medium MBBS courses later this month, marking a significant step toward making medical education more accessible and inclusive.
Dhan Singh Rawat highlighted that Uttarakhand will become the second state in the country, after Madhya Pradesh, to implement this progressive initiative. The decision has received endorsement from Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, who is expected to officially launch the MBBS courses in Hindi in Uttarakhand's medical colleges by the end of August. Rawat underlined that the syllabus for these courses was meticulously crafted by a state-appointed committee of expert doctors, drawing inspiration from the successful Madhya Pradesh model. This committee worked diligently to adapt and finalize the curriculum for Uttarakhand's medical colleges.
The syllabus, endorsed by an expert panel, was submitted to the Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna University of Medical Education. The university has completed all necessary formalities to integrate the new curriculum into its medical education framework. This progressive move is anticipated to be a significant boon for students who have pursued their education in Hindi, as they will now have the opportunity to study medicine in their native language. Minister Rawat's efforts also extended to inviting the Union Health Minister to formally launch the Hindi-medium MBBS courses and participate in the inauguration of an AIIMS satellite center in Udham Singh Nagar, demonstrating Uttarakhand's commitment to advancing medical education and healthcare accessibility.
India's education landscape is undergoing a transformative shift with the introduction of the New Education Policy (NEP) in 2023. Under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) unveiled this policy to overhaul the traditional education system that had been in place for 34 years. The NEP focuses on modernizing teaching methods, integrating technology, and fostering practical skills, with a core objective of providing inclusive education accessible to all, irrespective of their background.

It advocates for holistic, joyful, and stress-free learning, with a spotlight on online education to ensure high-quality learning experiences.
Furthermore, the policy envisions universities becoming multidisciplinary institutions, promoting flexibility in subjects and multiple entry and exit points for students.
The NEP marks a significant stride towards making education more relevant, practical, and accessible in India. By emphasizing critical skills, technological integration, and flexible learning pathways, it aims to equip the youth for the challenges of the modern world while fostering a culture of lifelong learning.
